Mid-Atlantic Woodsmen's Competition
The ACM Forest Technology Woodsmen's Team will be hosting, and competing in, the 2023 Mid-Atlantic Woodsmen's Competition on the Cumberland Campus.
Friday, April 14th from 4pm -6pm
Saturday, April 15th from 8am - 4pm
Upper Field, near the College Entrance
Everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy the excitement as six teams from the region compete in several collegiate lumberjack sports. Teams, consisting of male and female competitors, practice all year to hone their speed for the Pole Climb and Water Boil, accuracy for Archery and Pulp Toss, knowledge for Dendrology and Compass/Pacing, and efficiency for Underhand Chop and Log Roll.
ACM placed third in 2022 but their chainsaws are fueled up and axes sharpened; ready to take first place this year. We hope to see you there!
The Forest Technology program at ACM is accredited by the Society of American Foresters (SAF), and one of only 25 accredited programs in North America. We are the only SAF-accredited Forest Technology Program in the state of Maryland.
